Description
- Drinking water is routinely tested for contamination. If a screening tests positive, more sophisticated tests are required to determine whether harmful microbes are present
- Students use PCR in multiplex format
- Single PCR test detects presence of three separate, classroom-safe organisms
- Analyzed on agarose gels
Experiment times:
- Setup: 60 minutes
- PCR: 120 minutes or overnight
- Electrophoresis: 45 minutes
